There is no shortage of delightful things to see in Kuala Lumpur. One of my favorites is street art. KL has plenty of it. My favorites are below.

The art is divided into three sections. The first is murals and a sculpture. Two areas where you can see a lot of street art are on Jalan Rembia and the surrounding streets in the Bukit Bintang neighborhood and in Chinatown. In Chinatown, don’t miss Kwai Chai Hong. This is a small alley with some charming artwork. You reach it by going over a little bridge where the ceramic lady in the pink dress is sitting. Kwai Chai Hong translates to Little Demon Alley.

The second section is for Lat sculptures. The sculptures are based on the cartoons of Malaysian cartoonist Datuk Mohd Nor Khalid who goes by the name of Lat. Twenty-two sculptures were installed in 2016. I don’t know how many are still standing. We saw several besides the ones I photographed, but some of them weren’t in very good shape.

The third section is painted utility boxes. This is the first time I have seen them, but learned this has been done in many cities worldwide. We saw them in every part of the city we visited, so there are plenty of cool surprises waiting for you.

Click on any photo and you well see them all in slideshow format with the approximate locations.
